From the recording REFUGE
We start the album with ‘all of the stops out’. Here I’m joined by the wonderful Reading Phoenix Choir and the Berkshire Youth Choir comprising over 70 voices, with Terl Bryan on kit and Paul Scott on electric bass. The words and music of Total Praise come from one of the great gospel singers Richard Smallwood which he composed in 1996 whilst experiencing significant personal grief. Huge credit must go to Stephen Bulla who transcribed this arrangement from a live performance!
Lyrics
Lord, I will lift mine eyes to the hills
Knowing my help is coming from You
Your peace, You give me in time of the storm
You are the source of my strength
You are the strength of my life
I lift my hands in total praise to you
You are the source of my strength
You are the strength of my life
I lift my hands in total praise to you
Amen, Amen (Amen)
